Clothes

Hm okay so I made the skirt and the necklace. The shirt is old and if you're wondering that's from Urban Outfitters. I tried making a skirt again. This time I sewed it with a sewing machine. So it looks slightly better. Unfortunately the fit is a little loose. If you are wondering why there is no backside picture, it's because the back looks like a hurricane. I probably will wear this skirt even though it looks like vomit in the back. However it is important not to waste fabric right? As for the necklace, I wanted to imitate this necklace that I saw at Anthropology.

Isn't it gorgeous? Well that necklace costs thirty-eight bucks... So I decided to take matters into my own hands and try to re-create it. I think it turned out okay. I used different material - the originial is in cotton. I just used whatever was in my house. Anyways that's all for now. I have nothing else to say.

Banksy!

So you guys all know who Banksy is right? Well if you don't, he's this amazing street artist. http://www.banksy.co.uk/ < that's his website. Check it out if you want (I highly recommend you to). You probably have seen his work it's really famous. Anyways, for labor day weekend I went to China town and saw his work. It was amazing. I could have sat there all night and just admire his masterpiece (but I didn't). The only thing that annoyed me was that someone tried to deface his artwork. Sheesh, some people will never understand the mind of an artist. Banksy thank you for making my weekend. Not that he'll probably ever see this post, but hey if he ever does keep it up - love your work. That's all.

Magazine Clutch!

I really wanted to try and make some more clothes when I realized "wow, I'm broke". So buying  new fabric was out of question... and I'm in the midst of creating something right now, but it isn't going as planned. Lately, it's been frustrating me like crazy, so I decided to hold that off for a bit and start something else. I was google-ing stuff and came across this website teaching people how to make purses. I got all excited and then realized that they were advertising classes... However, the website was not all together useless. Sure I couldn't take the class, but I did see this interesting purse made out of candy wrappers. Thus I decided to try it out. The only problem was I didn't have any candy wrappers. Furthermore, I wasn't going to kill myself with candy just to try and make a purse. So I settled for magazine paper. I really like the clutch all together. It wasn't what I originally had in mind, but it turned out to be really cool. Sure it may not be perfect because the clutch doesn't close all the way (due to some measurement problems - hmm I should have really payed more attention in my math classes...). Nevertheless, I really like it and I didn't have to pay a dime for it. Tape was just lying around in my house (like most people do), magazines I got for free from ASR way back when, and the snap I just used from a purse that I initially thought was cute and now realized it's the most tacky piece of fabric I've ever seen. Anyways I'm rambling. So that's why I haven't been posting lately. I've been busy trying to create something to show you. O: I know, I'm so considerate. [;

Skirt!

Hm so this is a skirt I hand sewed some time ago. I think like a month ago. It took me forever. One - because I’ve never sewn a skirt. Two - I didn’t use blocks or those nifty tricks. Three - no sewing machine because it was broken (now it’s fixed! - now I just have to figure out how to use it… now that’s going to be a challenge…). Four - getting pricked by a needle hurts like no other. Five - I get lazy. Eh so the lining doesn’t look so hot and it’s a bit crooked (okay fine I admit it - it’s really crooked and the lining looks like vomit) but from far away you can’t tell (as much). [; However, on the hanger and the close up photos show all the mistakes. I could hide all of them in the photos but what good would that be? I’d rather not lie to myself. Oh well, practice makes perfect. Or well close to perfect. Bleh, perfection = impossible and vair boring. That is all for now.

Yarn Delux

I really like wearing beanies but the only problem is that it costs a lot (or well in my opinion). In my opinion I'd rather spend my twenty-ish dollars on something else like food. So I invested in a crocheting needle and some yarn and created these! The designs are simple now but with practice and more expensive yarn I could surely create masterpieces. The yarns were only three dollars (the blue unfortunately was five due to the higher quality [it was worth it though - it turned out to be my favorite beanie and beret]). In the long term, the crocheting needle and yarn saved me money while giving me something fun to do. [:

A Continuation From The Last Post

Trial number three. I feel like repeating myself today.
I think it's slowly getting better :]

Practice Makes Perfect!

Well... okay I admit it's not perfect, but hey! I think there was definite improvement. Yeah things may not go as you want it to but keep trying and success will come your way. Or well that's how I feel.
So as you can tell this is my first one. Not very good. It's pretty much awkward...

This is my second try. MUCH better. Far from perfect, but hey I gotta love it.
 So I guess the moral of this post is to not give up! I am feeling a bit cheesy right now. [;

Not Digimon...Digi-art!

So tonight I decided to practice on my totally noob graphic skills. That's all for now. |:

Technology, why are you being so difficult?!

So today I thought I'd talk about my broken xbox. It's been quite a while since it's been broken. Almost a year now (I think?). So one day (way long ago in the past) I had the urged to play some games (Halo I - if you are curious). I was playing the snow level (on easy - because I'm actually really bad at video games) (oh and the snow level is my favorite level in Halo I) and all of a sudden I was attacking a ferocious yellow alien (that's uber hard to kill) and then all of a sudden my xbox started to spazz out from my spazzing out at the ferocious yellow alien. Ever since then my xbox has been broken. The disk tray went wild. I guess my xbox had enough of the yellow alien. Unfortunately, I would still like to play against the mass amount of aliens and save the human world. So if you have any suggestions as to why my xbox is being so unfair please tell me! Much appreciated! If you have no clue why (like me) you can giggle about my unfortunate dilemma.

Yum!

Today is a day to celebrate. It's been a while since everyone in my family has been able to meet up and spend time with each other. So my sisters and I decided to make carrot cake from a recipe found on SF Gate. [ Carrot Cake Link ] This was our first time ever making carrot cake and I must say, it was pretty darn good. There were a few edits in the carrot cake we made though. Ours contained less sugar (for we don't have huge sweet tooths) and more carrots. Definitely worth the time and effort. Bon appetit!
End result!
Home grown carrots [:
I think food tastes better when it's grown naturally. No chemicals! That's the way it should. It makes life just that much sweeter! To me, I think the home grown veggies are much more delicious. I bet it'll even make kids enjoy their broccoli if it was home grown! I guess that's my advice for the day? Hm...
So my eggs have quite the personality! However, we kinda had a disagreement (hence their facial expressions)
Anyways that was my fun fill family sisterly bond day! I guess food really does bring people closer together! Not just me and my sisters, but also my eggs. They united as one to have a rebellion... though I can't say they did a very good job from stopping me. Thank you eggs. I will think about you every bite I take. MMMMM! It's a must try. The artistic carrot cake.

Ah Perspective

So perspective is something I certainly lack. Thus, I devoted today to perspective. Yay! Did I happen to get any better? Well... I think so. I still have loads to learn, but I sure did learn a lot. Now my pictures will make more sense. Ah drawing straight lines is a challenge... even with a ruler!
So this is suppose to be my refrigerator... It didn't turn out too well, but at least everything is in perspective. Besides the fact that it is sooo skinny. It's okay though. A skinny refrigerator will help me not over indulge in food. I mean... did you ever say "there's nothing to eat" when in fact, the fridge is packed? Well, I say that all the time. Maybe a skinner fridge will help me appreciate the food that was once in my fat fridge. [;

The Horror...

I can't control it. No matter what I say or do, I keep watching Bleach. If you don't know, Bleach is an anime. A very long one actually. So I sit and watch and watch and watch until my eyes are sore. Then I take a break and curiosity drives me back to the screen. Sigh* curiosity sure did kill the cat (and my eyes as well). Anyways, I decided to draw Rukia from Bleach. She is definitely not one of my favorite characters (actually she makes it on my least favorite character list) but somehow she inspired me. Odd isn't it? I guess it's a love hate relationship. Anyways, it's not perfect but for a noob I wouldn't say it's too shabby. [: Well below is the picture. It took me forever. Maybe four plus hours... (if you are wondering why it took me so long - note* I am a beginner). Anyways enjoy. (Tips are always helpful ;] )
